8 Simple Daily Habits for a Healthier and Happier Life
2025 is the year of transforming myself into a healthier person overall. All the excuses I had for not doing these essential habits in college are no longer there—since I have more than enough time living at home with a remote job. And even if you have a busy lifestyle, you can still incorporate these habits into your routine. I understand these habits will be different for everyone, but here are some ideas if you want to see a positive change in your life, bringing you more energy and happiness.
So, here are my goals and things I've been incorporating into my routine for healthy living!
1. Taking Vitamins Every AM and PM
I used to always put this off, but now I make sure to take my vitamins daily for overall health. It’s also essential for my skin and hair health. In the mornings, I take pumpkin seed oil, known for promoting strong hair growth, and collagen gummies, which support skin elasticity and joint health. In the evenings, I take fish oil (great for heart and brain health), magnesium (helps with muscle recovery and relaxation), and vitamin B (supports energy production and brain function).
You can find these all on amazon!
2. Intermittent Fasting
I eat my first meal around 10:30–11:00 AM and stop eating between 7:30–8:00 PM. This method helps prevent overeating, especially late-night snack binging. Since incorporating this, I’ve lost weight and feel so much better. It also improves sleep, as stopping food intake a few hours before bed supports better digestion and rest. It’s a game-changer!

3. Posting on My Socials Daily
Since I’m serious about monetizing content creation on the side, my goal is to:
Post on TikTok @nicolenorthh 1–3x daily
Post on my blog Instagram @nicolenorthblogs 1–2x daily
Post on LTK and Pinterest weekly
Publish a new blog post once a week
It’s a lot, but my flexible remote job allows me to stay consistent!

4. Working on a Goal for My Future
Right now, that goal is finding roommates and an apartment in Boston. By chipping away at it each week, it feels less intimidating and helps ease my anxiety. My goal is to get outside of my comfort zone by reaching out to girls weekly on the Boston Facebook Group!
5. Reading Each Night Before Bed
I love reading—I even have an entire category on my blog dedicated to my favorite books. But sometimes, I get lazy and end up scrolling on my phone instead. Reading before bed helps me de-stress and fall asleep faster. Find my Goodreads @nicolenorthh if you're looking for book recommendations!

6. Drinking 80 oz of Water a Day
This means drinking two full bottles of my Owala. I’m already great at drinking 40 oz, but I need to up it to 80 oz. Since I drink so much coffee, I sometimes forget to drink water—so I’m making hydration a priority!

7. Walking 30–45 Minutes at Least 4–5 Times a Week
I’m great at working out, but I usually alternate between the gym and Pilates. When I do my Pilates videos, they include cardio, but I’m not walking enough. I want to walk more—especially with my dog when the weather gets better—and even start hiking my favorite trail on weekends.
Fit the other day before walking at the gym!
8. Working on my Hair Health
I have extremely fine hair that breaks off so fast. Along with stopping bleaching and growing out my natural color (I'll really miss the bright blonde, but it must be done), I’m focusing on strengthening my hair. I’ve been using hair growth oils and rosemary oil at least three times a week, applying a bonding mask once a week, and massaging a scalp serum into my roots every night—right now, I’m loving the Dove one because it smells amazing. I’m also trying to use less heat on my hair, which is tough since my natural curls can be hard to manage, but I know it’ll make a huge difference in the long run!
